I'm so thankful for client holidays

My workload has lightened for the time being since we're getting feedback from the users and can't do much to the prototype during that time. Next week should be another crunch since the project is ending; although, not quite as bad as that long day two Wednesdays ago. (It was actually 15.5 hours at work. I miscounted.) If things go well, my company may be hired to implement the production version of the site redesign. The stress was more manageable this time since I knew it would be coming, but I could still feel it building up last week, and it made me a bit testy.
I managed to get a bit of much needed time to de-stress thanks to client holidays on Friday and Monday. Note that I said a bit. My grandmother needed help fixing a problem with her computer, and inadvertently undid a lot of the relaxing I had been doing.
I also got a new stove over the weekend. It's really nice. It has a warming zone, an adjustable element, a big oven with three racks, and nice, modern controls. An interesting conversation arose from this too. I had asked what practical unit should be used to describe the oven's volume, kind of like how very long objects are sometimes described as being x football fields long or how trunks can be measured by how many bodies they can hold. The eventual conclusion was that we should look to Hansel and Gretel for the answer.
Work was an interesting experience today. I found out that I was only in the visitor system until last week, so I had to contact my boss and wait a bit for my info to be added again.
At least my trip to the gym went well, and one person was impressed by how much cardio I was doing. It's easy if I can get the right spot to run while watching the parade of hotties that have been showing up recently.

Date: 2006-04-19 04:43 am (UTC)I was going to say that you have some weird conversations, but then I thought of some of the ones I've had, so I can't say anything.
Cardio's all about the zone, and the right entertainment to keep you distracted ^_^

Exactly.
