I'm so thankful for client holidays

My workload has lightened for the time being since we're getting feedback from the users and can't do much to the prototype during that time. Next week should be another crunch since the project is ending; although, not quite as bad as that long day two Wednesdays ago. (It was actually 15.5 hours at work. I miscounted.) If things go well, my company may be hired to implement the production version of the site redesign. The stress was more manageable this time since I knew it would be coming, but I could still feel it building up last week, and it made me a bit testy.
I managed to get a bit of much needed time to de-stress thanks to client holidays on Friday and Monday. Note that I said a bit. My grandmother needed help fixing a problem with her computer, and inadvertently undid a lot of the relaxing I had been doing.
I also got a new stove over the weekend. It's really nice. It has a warming zone, an adjustable element, a big oven with three racks, and nice, modern controls. An interesting conversation arose from this too. I had asked what practical unit should be used to describe the oven's volume, kind of like how very long objects are sometimes described as being x football fields long or how trunks can be measured by how many bodies they can hold. The eventual conclusion was that we should look to Hansel and Gretel for the answer.
Work was an interesting experience today. I found out that I was only in the visitor system until last week, so I had to contact my boss and wait a bit for my info to be added again.
At least my trip to the gym went well, and one person was impressed by how much cardio I was doing. It's easy if I can get the right spot to run while watching the parade of hotties that have been showing up recently.

Date: 2006-04-19 04:43 am (UTC)I was going to say that you have some weird conversations, but then I thought of some of the ones I've had, so I can't say anything.
Cardio's all about the zone, and the right entertainment to keep you distracted ^_^

Exactly.

Date: 2006-04-19 01:52 pm (UTC)Hee! XD Capacity = 1.5 witches?
Visitor system? As in a bio bit on the website or something? ;-)
How much cardio ARE you doing, Cheetahdude?
I remember complaining there were no cute guys at the gym while upstairs, and that didn't change going at night; the freeweights are downstairs and that's still where they are. It's weird, but most of the hunks just don't DO cardio. While I have heard that's how it goes, how do they maintain those sixpacks otherwise???

It's actually a security system that spits out passes with barcodes. Once you get a pass, you can come and go as many times as you want on that day.
I usually do 40 minutes if I do weights on the same day and an hour on my day for just cardio.
Maybe we just don't see them doing cardio or they engage in other activities that burn calories. It's also possible that they just won the genetic lottery and naturally have good abs.

Ah, okie.
I ought to find some guidance on cardio. Still doing 30 each time but not sure if I'm doing it as effectively as I could. And I don't think I could take a full hour x.x
I suppose they could be running outside the gym, but I sometimes see them enter and leave, they're certainly not doing cardio there o.0
Is it possible to naturally have good abs? XD I hope so, it'd explain my cast ;-)

Date: 2006-04-20 04:12 pm (UTC)Now if I could just keep my coworkers from bringing crunchy foods back to the office while I'm trying to work. Be thankful you don't have my ears.
If you want to know the name of the client I'm working for, just ask and I'll reply privately. I'm trying to avoid publically stating who it is since it would sound like name dropping.
I could use some more guidance for it too, but what I probably need most is changes to my diet. I found that it's a lot harder to improve that when my parents are around.
I can only do a full hour on the elliptical machines since treadmills kill my knees and ankles.
I was thinking of activities other than running.;-)
Genetics and diet are big factors since they determine how much fat you have, where it goes, and how your metabolism acts.
