Back from AC. Much fun was had, especially since I shared a room with [livejournal.com profile] ski_fox, [livejournal.com profile] mapdark, and [livejournal.com profile] the_zookeeper.

My first day included an unexpected trip to the airport for Zookee since ski_fox had car trouble. The trip had me stressed out since I didn't know quite where I was going, which triggered a flashback to my first drive in downtown Detroit. Returning to the hotel was easier despite some really heavy rain.

The i.s.o. t-shirt I made went over well; although, I forgot most of the tips [livejournal.com profile] mammallamadevil had for improving the design. That's technically a moot point, though, since I don't intend to make more unless mine gets ruined in the wash. (I'm actually afraid to put it in the laundry.)

V's drawing males panel was fun, even with the crazy people in the first row. I also made sure to continue the tradition of taking the stack of sketches he did during the panel. It's a recent tradition, only one year old, but a tradition nonetheless.

Rob Paulsen's panel was great, and filled with interesting trivia. He only recorded two takes of Yakko's World, and the first one was used for the episode.

The supersponsor luncheon was delicious.

I got to help run Zookee's panel on Saturday. (I think it was Saturday, at least) I think it went well, despite Laserbeak failing me. (Now I can't use one of Megatron's lines from TFTM to describe 'Beaky any more.)

Saturday night was spent at at a gay club. It wasn't the meat market I was hoping for, and clubs aren't really my thing, but I still had a good time, and it was something I needed to experience.

Sunday was lunch with [livejournal.com profile] invisiblewolf, collecting sketchbooks and badges (scans coming after I get some rest), and watching the con wind down.

I had a great time at Anthrocon, and look forward to visiting more furry conventions in the future. I was a bit disorganized, and usually forgot to give people ways to find me (like my room number or my cellphone number.)

Way too much text to post without a cut. )

One last thing. After I got home, I visited my grandparents' home for dinner since it's father's day. A thunderstorm knocked out their power, but I got some really good news. My oldest cousin is getting married.

Picked up my copy of ISO #2, the Buffalo Wings annual, Historimorphs 2 and 3, and one of [livejournal.com profile] the_gneech's Suburban Jungle books.

I finally met [livejournal.com profile] invisiblewolf. He had the impression I was taller than 5'4", and gave me a hug. It was a bit awkward at first, but I'm glad he did since I've never been hugged by a big, buff guy before.

I chatted with [livejournal.com profile] mammallamadevil while watching Vince draw. He should be paid just for letting people have the privilege of seeing him create those wonderful images.

I completely missed seeing [livejournal.com profile] nievelion, and will have to fix that tomorrow.

After the dealer room closed, I eventually caught up with [livejournal.com profile] codyvfrost, [livejournal.com profile] mammallammadevil, [livejournal.com profile] susandeer, and [livejournal.com profile] the_gneech and went to Sue's room and chatted for a while. They're great people to hang out with.

Progress continues on my fanart for Vince. The muscles are mostly correct, stripes are being added, the facial expression is being tweaked, and I'm trying to find a good reference to use for the globe.

Tomorrow, I'll be getting up early to go to the gym with [livejournal.com profile] invisiblewolf, and a few other people.

Wandered around for a bit in the morning to see what was in the area and get my sense of direction.

Apparently, I have a doppelganger. A couple of people were looking for a guy with my height, my build or less, my hair, and my first name. When I first saw them, I was thinking that they were people I met online and didn't recognize.

Registration took a bit, but I had my Nintendo DS on me, and I got to play the download version of Tetris DS.

Watching for people I knew was interesting; although, I have to admit that the people in fursuits took some getting used to. I don't mean that in a bad way. It just takes a bit for me to adjust since I normally rely on people's expressions, and I can't do that when somebody's face is covered by a mask.

I briefly saw a few people I've encountered online, but didn't have a chance to say anything since I didn't recognize them until after they were gone. Dave Ferris looks a bit different from what I thought he looked like, [livejournal.com profile] spunkywolf has a nice fursuit, [livejournal.com profile] codyvfrost looks great, and I'm sure there were other people that I'm too tired to remember.

Later, I was finally able to meet [livejournal.com profile] codyvfrost, [livejournal.com profile] bauske, [livejournal.com profile] spunkywolf, [livejournal.com profile] pegasus316, and a few other people. It was nice seeing them, but I think I came off a bit awkward at first. They're nice people, and I like having voices to associate with things they post to LJ.

When people brought out their Nintendo DSes to use pictochat, I finally started to loosen up. It took me a while to think of funny things to send, but I can say that it was one of the most sick and depraved sessions of pictochat ever. The only downside was that my battery was nearly drained, so I didn't get to participate for very long after I got going.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try being the first person to get my claws on ISO #2, seek out other LJ friends, buy some stuff, and have fun.
