Flipping through the channels, my mother stopped at a documentary about turkeys. Upon seeing this, she asked, "Are they hunting them?"
My sister quickly replied, "No, they just have long, pointy cameras."
At this point, the hunters in the documentary were attempting to lure a turkey into range with a turkey call. After seeing them shoot the bird my mother said, "That's mean. They shot him while he was looking for a girlfriend."
"Um, that was the hunters' turkey call," my sister answered, "It's good to know that they work."
"Yes," I replied, "whether turkey calls actually function has always been one of the lingering questions of the universe."
