Work has become more stressful for me lately, and it's manifested as a desire to draw.

I am definitely lacking in ability, but I can hopefully improve with time, patience, and practice. ("Time and patience, John." - Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan)

My sister is to blame, thank, blame thank for the first image. My deranged mind merged her favorite Muppet with her favorite character from Futurama once I noticed that they had a connection. There are several things that I need to work on, but you can't learn without trying.

The second thing I tried to draw was the view from my front window during a thunderstorm. I ended up not drawing almost nothing in the background because I realized that I would need a reference, and I gave up trying to draw the lamps because their shapes are too complex for my present abilities.

Lastly, I tried to draw the human figure a few times, but they turned out embarrassingly bad, so there is no point in uploading them. There's enough to laugh at in my gallery as it is.

What I've learned is that my mind can see how an image is constructed- I just need practice telling my hands what to do. I'm thinking it would help to have someone teach me, but I have no idea whom to ask. It also feels weird to admit that I need assistance since I am usually fiercely independent.

I've also developed a penchant for oldies, probably because Dick Purtain's show is on an oldies station and there's no way I'd listen to anything else in the morning.
