Now that was fun
Sep. 18th, 2005 09:44 pmThis weekend was a perfect break from an unfortunate incident at work on Friday (It wasn't my doing, and I can't actually say much beyond acknowledging that it occurred).
On Friday, I spent the night at Michigan State. It was basically a moderately-sized group of people drinking a bit and watching Ghostbusters II in a dormroom. I actually tried to drink for once and quickly remembered why I don't like it. Alcohol smells terrible, and it makes me feel kind of sick after a drink or two.
Saturday, I went to Cedar Point for the first time in seven years. The park had some really nice decorations up for its "Halloweekends", including a graveyard for deceased rides. I rode the Raptor for the first time, and found out that the Demon Drop may be sold to make room for more attractions. There were also some nice looking guests, but I was trying to behave (for once) and couldn't overtly stare at them like I wanted to.
There was only one thing I didn't particularly like during this trip. Two of the people I was with were constantly trying to make out, which got kind of old after a while. I wish they would have either mated or shown a bit of restraint.
More art will be posted later in the week when I feel like I've actually made some progress.

Date: 2005-09-19 01:36 pm (UTC):::raises glass of water in toast::: Lack of alcohol interest is good. ^.^
It's too darn early to be thinking about Halloween! Come on, at least wait for summer to officially end x_x
Ah, overly affectionate friend-couples. Bring a bucket of water next time XD

Date: 2005-09-19 11:08 pm (UTC)I know lack of interest is good. I've seen, and heard, what it can do to people.
It's never too early to be thinking about Halloween. Mischief is encouraged, and it means that Fall and Winter will be coming soon. Besides, there are already stores putting up X-mas displays.
Given how they were behaving, they would probably like that.

Date: 2005-09-20 02:24 pm (UTC)Most of my college friends liked getting drunk. Oddly, the majority of my online friends don't o.0 I know who I prefer spending New Year's with.
Well, part of it is living in LA; it doesn't cool off (consistently below 80) until well into October. It's just hard to feel festive when it's so hot ^ ^;;
TMI x_x

Date: 2005-09-21 02:48 am (UTC)I'd call it interesting rather than odd, but I'm weird like that.
I could see how that would be a problem. I never know what the weather near Halloween will be like around here. The old saying about Michigan is true- if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. It'll change. We went from summer weather in early May/late April to snow the next week and back to warm weather the week after that.
At least you weren't there. Discovering two people swapping spit every time you turn around gets kind of old.
And I learned something interesting today. Your name is on the list of hurricane/tropical storm names for this year. Since they're already on 'R' and hurricane season ends in November, there's a good chance that your name will be used.

Date: 2005-09-21 01:30 pm (UTC)I hear ya. And I remember when my roommate in college had his gf over. They were discreet in public spaces, but...well, let's just say the walls weren't very thick x_x
Gosh. I...uh...can't wait. XD Coincidence: said roommate's gf was named Katrina ;-)

Date: 2005-09-22 10:51 am (UTC)It does have one advantage. The lakes may make the weather crazy, but they also shield the lower peninsula from some of the worst stuff.
My name isn't on any of the six lists, so I'm not sure how to feel about that. The upside is that my name won't be associated with something that can leave massive destruction in its wake. The downside is that my name won't be associated with something that can leave massive destruction in its wake.
