Okay, campers, rise and shine.

And don't forget your booties because it's cold out there today.

imdb.com/title/tt0107048

It's cold out there every day.

Edited since the link was generating a lot of popups in IE. I have no idea why it was doing that, and I didn't do anything different from how I've posted links before.

You are an asshole. I just spent the last fifteen minutes closing down a whole bunch of fucking Internet Explorer windows that kept popping up -- nine at a time. Take this fucking link down before you get other people mad at you.

And don't fucking talk to me for a while, OK?

It's popping up a bunch of windows? I entered an ordinary IMDB link the same way I always do. Sorry if it did something weird.

[identity profile] invisiblewolf.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't the way you entered the link, it was the code on the other side of the link that kept executing. I had 20+ IE windows open at one point.

This wasn't just "weird", I would call it malicious. And yes, I realize that you didn't know it was going to do that.

And thanks for putting up the warning.

However the ads are described, they still made me seem like a jerk for thinking IMDB was reputable/competent enough to prevent them from appearingvon its pages.

My apologies for blowing up at you this morning; I was mad at the situation more than you and I'm sorry that I called you an asshole. You've always been a good friend and I really shouldn't have gotten that upset.

No permanent harm appears to have been done to my laptop, for which I'm very thankful.

I was confused, but it was an understandable reaction. That advertising technique is annoying and a potential vector for malware.

No permanent damage is a huge relief.

Ouch ..

No offense but why do you use IE?

[identity profile] invisiblewolf.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
The web program that USC uses (as well as other websites) works better in IE than it does in Firefox. I have Firefox on my desktop and IE on my laptop.

I'm glad to hear that you were relatively immune to this!

This issue has since been resolved. I apologized to Brian out of the deep respect and friendship that I have for him; nothing more needs to be said.

Just giving you a helpful tip for next time.

Appreciate the tip. Hopefully there won't be a next time.

Yeah I'll agree , the page was a popup generator but thankfully I was using my beloved firefox.

Thanks for putting a warning though ^^

And groundhog day :P

I don't really care about it.

Seems to be a very american thing :)
