I found out how the restore function for the iPhone works

And it only cost me almost all the music I had stored on mine.

My plan was to update to the newest software version while celebrating my birthday (and the anniversary of my mom's memory problem) at my parental units' place.

Unfortunately, I let my phone sit unattended while the update downloaded and installed. Apparently, screensavers can interrupt the install process. My phone was temporarily bricked, and needed to be restored twice before it would work again.

The only songs which survived were the handful that I'd purchased from that computer and my custom ringtone. Next time, I'm going to bring my jump drive of music even if I don't need it.
