There's a good chance that I'll have a cat soon.
One of my sister's fellow employees rescued a kitten that was almost hit by a car. Part of its tail has been stripped to the bone, and will probably need to be amputated, but it's a cute, playful thing. The people who took it in can't keep it because their lease doesn't allow pets.
I think I'm ready for a cat. The only issue with this one is that it looks a little too young, and I'm not sure I'll have the time to care for a kitten of that age.
Pictures for the interested.
And I'll be naming him Xylophone if I decide to take him. Bonus Points† if you can tell what that's a reference to.
EDIT: Turns out, he's only four weeks old. That means he'll need a lot of extra care, and the best place for that is the humane society. I probably won't be able to get him, but I'll keep looking for a kitten I can adopt.
†Bonus Points have no actual value

Note to self: Use a smaller font next time.

Date: 2007-05-23 12:09 am (UTC)I should have used an asterisk to make it a reference to a fairly recent Help Desk strip.

Date: 2007-05-22 10:11 pm (UTC)Ummmm... yes, kittens are wonderful things to have, but yes, they need a bit of watching after. I hope you're able to get him, but if not, then it happens.
I did a google image search (TM) for Xylophone Cat to try and find the reference, and this came up.
I get bonus points now, yes?

EEP! Okay, I'll tell you where it came from. Just make that evil thing go 'way. It's from "The Stupids", a series of picture books. The Stupids had a dog named Kitty and a cat named Xylophone.
