exatronThis morning I learned that the NHL lockout is essentially over. Since hockey is the only sport I like, I was quite happy to hear that, even if the deal means significant changes for the Red Wings.
Then work hit me. Today I had to test several applications, one of which is wanted in production next week, despite the fact that I still don't see it working as intended in the environment it's currently in. I also had a conference call that was delayed so some code could be promoted, and then it took three tries before we could get the call set up without problems. Meanwhile, I'm being asked to send an issue email about a different application while I'm on the conference call, despite previously telling the person who asked that I don't multitask while on conference calls.
I also had to deal with several people nearby having rather loud conversations while I was trying to get my work done.
At least I was finally able to get the latest build of Inkscape to compile after tweaking the code a bit. Version 0.42 is looking decent so far, and it should be fairly easy to add JavaScript to change aspects of the icon based on my mood.
Once I get the hang of adding JavaScript to SVG files, I can start work on the bigger idea I had- an online fighting game where users can upload characters made in SVG and play against each other. The infrastructure will be the hardest part, but I can worry about that after the basic game engine is finished.
