My computers' upgrade woes are mostly solved now, other than a tendency to lock up. Laserbeak finally has video drivers that don't render it unusable, so that's an improvement, even if Metroplex still has sound problems.

On Sunday, I went to my sister's to feed and water her cats while she was out of town. The garage door was open when I got there, but thankfully nothing seemed to be missing. When I got inside, I found that one of the cats left a mess in the corner. My sister must have anticipated that since the appropriate cleaner was on the counter.

Emmy was her usual cowardly self and spent the entire time hiding under my sister's bed, but the kitten (No, she still doesn't have a name) seems to like me now. She came up to me a few seconds after I entered and started purring like a lawnmower. She also started to enjoy climbing on me shortly before I left.

I'm also really close to a decision on an apartment, and just need to let my decision settle in before acting on it.

God, Laserbeak and Metroplex just piss me off so much sometimes! :P

Whew, glad nothing had been taken. LOL, your sister has very good foresight!

Purring like a LAWNMOWER! D'awwwwww, cutest simile ever! Kittens are so cute, too bad they have to become cats eventaully.

Hope you make up your mind soon.

Havva good week ^__^

Prior to the upgrades, both machines acted like their namesakes. The really sad part is that they tarnish Linux's reputation for stability. I used to be able to leave Metroplex on for weeks at a time without problems.

I think one of them did that before, so she probably didn't want people going through her stuff for cleaning supplies.

That's not a simile. She actually purrs loud enough to sound like somebody is going by with a lawnmower. And it is a shame that they have to grow up. I used to be able to coax Emmy, the big scaredy lump, out into the open with cat toys. Now she just stares at you.

I've pretty much made up my mind, and just have to dispel some doubts my mom gave me. She was trying to help, but it just left me second-guessing my decisions.

Have a good week too.

Act like their namesakes? Is that a good thing? XD

When you said water the cats, it sounds like you're chasing them around with a watering can ;-)

D'awww, kitties ^.^

Decision? What are the options?

In Laserbeak's case it was a good thing. Before the upgrade, that laptop fit the TFTM quote Unlike my other warriors, you never fail me. Metroplex, on the other hand, is just as much trouble as the city-sized transformer. I think it's revenge for how I almost killed it less than a day after putting it together.

I was hoping somebody would misinterpret that.

Emmy hiding was worthy of a picture, but all I had was my cellphone's camera, and every attempt ended up as a dark blur.

The kitten climbing on me just reminded me of the time a butterfly landed on my head. Do you know how hard it is to look evil when there's a butterfly sitting on your head?

I reduced my choices to two options. One is a bit bigger and has slightly lower rent, but I have to pay the heating bill. The other is smaller (and feels that way) and about five minutes closer to work, but it's more expensive. Either way, I won't be able to move in until the 18th since I can't get people together any sooner.
