I had a great time over the weekend. An unexpectedly large portion of my family, plus a few of my sister's friends, celebrated my sister's birthday at her place.

This was the first time she had that many people over, and the first time my paternal grandparents, both of my uncles, my aunt who lives in the area, and my youngest cousin have visited her. She was a bit worried that my paternal grandmother would do her whole "That's cute, but not up to my standards" bit, but she behaved.

We also learned that my oldest cousin would be glad to hear that we're planning to go to his wedding since he was worried nobody would come. Getting our grandmother out to LA might be harder than we thought since she said she has back problems and thinks she'll be miserable on the plane.

My mom made the cake. Well, technically two, but she thought the first didn't turn out and made a new one after she got a really good deal on cake mix at the store.

Most of the afternoon was filled with loud conversation, including a few interesting stories about former teachers. My sister's favorite tale is about a substitute nicknamed "Feared the Worst" for being really clueless and using that phrase when writing about subbing for my sister's biology teacher on a typical lab day.

Her cats were in hiding for most of this. Emmy's a bad influence on the kitten, which used to be much more outgoing. The kitten (still no name) was entrenched behind the washing machine and laundry tub for a while, and started crying when we finally got her out of the laundry room and cut off her escape routes. She then decided to wedge herself between the wall and the side of the refrigerator. After we extracted her from that space, she hid behind the couch with Emmy.

I'm buying my sister's birthday present later this week since it would be kind of hard to buy Darkwing Duck on DVD before her birthday.

God I love the Simpsons ^__^

Then bring an encouragement cake to his office!

I miss my little Blacky(imaginative name, I know).

Yah-huh, he was less hot in Duck-tails. God, I can't believe I'm having this conversation. Furries are so lame someimes!

Back then, I was exclusively attracted only to really built men. Now I can appreciate(and find hot) a lot of body types, I just prefer muscle ;P

Bestest show ever.

Yeah, he'd love that. Especially if I had to explain who I was, why I was there, and why I brought food. That and he probably wouldn't appreciate the temptation of cake.

If/when I get a cat I'm going to name it either Xylophone or something that describes the opposite of its appearance.

It's not like the subject doesn't come up in other fandoms.

I agree. Most bodytypes have something to appreciate. Muscle is just more fun than the others.

Ain't it the tooth.

Then bring him some water and cottage cheese *snigger*

Yay for weird/inappropriate names!

How many other Launchpad-embracing fandoms can there be?

You know it ;)

I think he said he likes cottage cheese, and I'd get him some herbal tea or the decaffeinated Canadian vanilla-maple tea I like since I know he's tired of plain water.

"Xylophone" is technically appropriate. It's the name of the cat in "The Stupids" series of picture books by Harry G. Allard.

That depends on how you slice the fandoms. Fans of Disney animation could theoretically just enjoy animation.
