Returning to Sanity

After nearly hitting full Junkion mode last Friday at work, things have eased up a bit and I'm now only at John Crichton levels of pop culture references.
My new video card and DVD burner should ship soon, and I am looking forward to installing them and turning my new computer on for the first time. Sure, I still haven't quite decided how many distros to install, but that can wait until I get the machine running (for the record the current lineup is Gentoo, Mandriva, Ubuntu, Fedora Core 4, SuSe 9.1 for the x86 architecture, and possible the x86 version of Mandriva).
I also have some art to show.
First, I cleared some of the gratuitous penguins out of my mind.

Second, I attempted to draw a humanoid figure. It's obviously not the best in the world, and is more of a mannequin or action figure than a finished drawing, but I think I can make use of it as my own character/avatar whatever once I try completing it. I'm thinking of going with a cheetah for the species, and I think this figure might actually work for that purpose.

Even if I never quite get the hang of drawing, I've still managed to learn about a few things that I usually ignored before, like body language, perspective, and that I need to try new things more often.
