This reply took a while because I didn't want to sound like a list of cliches.

1. Reak friends will stick by you no matter what, and will tell you when you're doing something stupid.


2. People who don't believe in you or think you won't ammount to anything are fun to prove wrong.


3. Some people have no business being teachers.


4. You can learn a surprising number of things just by paying attention.


5. Asking the right questions can save you a lot of work.

I could probably ramble for a while on the subject, so I'll stop here.
