exatronSome interesting things happened yesterday. I discovered my first grey hair (I'm thinking of naming it 'Fred'.), I notice something wrong with one of my gerbils, and now part of my desk chair broke.
When I looked in a mirror yesterday morning, I noticed that one hair looked different. At first I thought it was just the lighting or that it had somehow become damaged, but closer inspection revealed that it was grey and had a slightly different texture from the others. It's staying for now because it reminds me of some pleasant things.
When I was in highschool, one of my classmates discovered that she had a grey hair and was very proud of it. Her parents were from India, and she shared the cultural belief that age isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The other thing that it reminds me of is something weird that's happening to my maternal grandmother's hair- it's been grey for as long as I can remember, but some patches on the back of her head recently started to grow darker.
I noticed that one of my gerbils had been bleeding out of her left ear (Gerbil mucus is reddish, so it could be that instead. [I know, TMI.]). I should have been concerned sooner since she had been looking a bit chunky, but suddenly lost some weight. Her balance is off, her fur doesn't look as clean, and she has less energy, but there isn't a lot I can do for her since they're so small, and are 2½ years old (They only live about 3-5 years). I learned that when Pippin, my sister's dwarf hamster, died. (He binged and purged at the same time.)

I should post a few pictures of the critters too.
