Workers came today to fix the interior damage from my formerly leaky roof. It took most of the weekend and part of Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to box up all of my stuff and move it into the living room and basement. My gerbils took being moved exactly like I expected- they were confused as always and settled back into their normal routine after a while.

My shelves are now completely devoid of Transformers, my DVD collection is in several boxes, my various software CDs are packed away, and I only recently determined what box I used to store my meager quantity of art supplies.

On the plus side, I found a few hidden treasures while extracting the contents of my room: a small green box from Hudson's (I still hate that the stores were renamed Marshall Field's), the keys to my first car (RIP 1991 electric red Taurus station wagon), and a blank CD-RW.

The DVD of my mp3/Ogg Vorbis collection is now missing since I forgot to label it, but I was able to employ the CD-RW in a project I've been working on for my local libraries.

My art supplies were packed up for a few days, so my attempts to restart drawing every day are going to feel like I'm making no progress whatsoever. I need to keep at it since I won't become adequate unless I make myself practice.

I also took the opportunity to move my furniture, vacuum and dust in every nook and cranny, remove the last remnants of a punctured can of pop, and clean things up in general. You wouldn't believe where lost hair accumulates when you have a lot of it. (Thankfully, I'm not going bald. The natural loss and replacement of hair is just more noticeable when it's longer.)

Now, time for more attempts at art.
