I'll skip most of the poor imitation of the opening for every Swedish Chef sketch and move straight on to the fun part.
Bork, bork, bork! :::throws a pair of spoons and looks somewhat surprised when their landing produces a crash:::

Last weekend I got bored and made an apple pie, which inspired this sketch. I tried to draw it quickly to prove to myself that I could finish an image in a reasonable amount of time. I completely forgot the spots again, but other than that it's not too bad for a fairly quick sketch.
And in case you were wondering, this is what the pie looked like:

Now, for the fitness update. I noticed something encouraging during the cardio portion of my personal training session tonight. I could actually see some definition in my legs (the bottoms of the vastus medialis and the vastus lateralis, if I remember my anatomy correctly). My personal trainer noticed this too and mentioned that we would be focusing more on the upper body in the future because my legs are coming along nicely and probably need a bit of a break.

Date: 2005-11-11 09:02 pm (UTC)Nice pic, but no offense....a chef who looks that darn lean is NOT someone I would get *dessert* from XD "Do you EAT any, pal?" Heh, I did forget about his last name tho ^.^
Congrats! How 'bout the calves? I don't care about my thighs, but I want calves x_x

Date: 2005-11-12 12:47 am (UTC)If I had been feeling evil at the time, I'd have slipped my own last name into the list of last names I was considering for Dan just to see if you would have suggested it.
My calves are getting better too. My understanding is that working your thighs also works your calves, which just require the occasional bit of extra work to look great.
And have fun at MFF. If my boss weren't going on vacation that week, I'd have been able to go too.

Date: 2005-11-12 07:28 pm (UTC)You should've. I don't know what it is :-)
Huh. My understanding is the calves are very used to holding the entire weight of the body, so it actually takes a lot of extra work to get them to build up. ^ ^;;;
D'oh! Next year?

Date: 2005-11-12 08:53 pm (UTC)I've been reluctant to use my last name online since doing a google search for my name makes it really easy to see where I live, but I guess I should tell you. It's Ringstad.
Interesting, I haven't done a lot of work on my calves, but they definitely got bigger along with my thighs.
Hopefully I'll make it next year.

Date: 2005-11-14 02:04 pm (UTC)Oh, well, you could've just e-mailed me if you don't want it visible ^ ^;;; Thankee, tho. Actually, that *does* kinda work well with Dan.
Eh, cheetahs must build legs easily XD I had a first dedicated leg workout yesterday at the gym. Oooch.
Kewl ^.^

Date: 2005-11-14 04:46 pm (UTC)I completely forgot that I could email you, but I did need to get over the whole not revealing my name online thing at some point.
My legs have responded the best so far, but I think it was partially because my previous job had me moving around a lot. There were always books that needed to be shelved, periodicals to sort or retrieve, and boxes of books that needed to be moved between the city's libraries.
Leg workouts can be tough, but the results are worth it.
And thanks for responding to all of those comments on Saturday. I know you like to keep your weekends free and I appreciate that you made some time to reply.

Date: 2005-11-15 02:47 pm (UTC)Personally, I think keeping your name away from online stuff is a good idea. I just mean if you'd included it in your list I'd never have known.
Aaaah. I had no idea you were a library worker o.0 Yeah, that's a step up (AHAHAHAHAA..eh) from doing officey work like me.
And my trainer said something else, that leg workouts are good for the entire body cuz working them releases more testosterone than other parts. Which makes sense cuz my leg muscles are, even if not that good, bigger than my arms.
Well, I like keepin' up with ya when I can. ^.^

Date: 2005-11-16 12:25 am (UTC)Good point.
I thought I had mentioned that I used to work in a library. Right now, I'm just another office schlub since I need to be able to afford stuff and at least try to use the things I learned in college.
That is an interesting fact.
That's nice to hear. I still have to thank you for going to the trouble since it's the nice and encouraging thing to do.
