OMG! Teh stoopid! It burnses us!

I'm not exactly fond of kids, but that's taking things a bit too far. Kids are supposed to run around and play tag.

...wow thats.... sad... stupid litigation freaking people out... schools are a nice big target too. *sighs*

... and people keep complaining about rampant childhood obesity...

That or they claim that acting like a kid means a child is hyperactive and needs drugs to fix the problem.

Yep. The sad thing is that many of those children's problems can be solved with simple consoling.

Half the time the kid's normal and the problem is the parents' inability to understand how kids act.

If you remove these things from childhood which are normal - no risk in anything at all, wrapping them in cotton - what happens is you get a generation of 'adults' completely unprepared for the blows life will deal to them as they get older. And that is a truly sad thing.

That's the biggest load of rubbish I've ever had the dissatisfaction of reading in my life. Over where I live, they are getting rid of recess altogether. It's stupid, adults get lunch breaks, so why can't kids get recess?

On topic... just another excuse for teachers to be lazy and not watch after the children. It is there job. To keep the children safe as well as teach them. No contact period? Geez. What's next? It was bad enough when Dodgeball got declared an "unlawful" sport, or when they stated Hockey wasn't allowed at school.

The parents are actually one of the big parts of the problem. They paralyzed schools with their stupidity and the threat of litigation. Throw in things like the "No Child Left Behind" nonsense, and it also becomes really hard to get really good teachers who care about their jobs.

An art teacher in Texas was fired because parents complained about their kids seeing nude art on a field trip to an art museum.
