Now I feel old

I went searching for new Transformers and the Animaniacs DVD set today, and stopped for a few minutes to look at the remains of one of the malls in my hometown. The place was scheduled for demolition so it could be replaced by a more modern strip mall design, but it's still sad to see. I remember when the building was enclosed 20 years ago, when the mall was expanded to accomodate a Target and to move the theater to the opposite side of the building, and when the food court was redone to attract new customers. Now all that remains is the Target.

I know it was necessary since the mall's owners couldn't attract new tennants, but I'm fascinated by old buildings and hate seeing them destroyed. Another mall in the city may be getting the same treatment soon, so I'll have to make sure I wander through it before it's too late.
