Well, that was fun

I may have managed to destroy my brand new computer within a day of putting it together. After figuring out what was preventing it from booting, I began to transfer my files to the new machine when the UPS device began to beep. The new computer was drawing more power than the device could supply; unfortunately, I wasn't able to shut it down before sparks began shooting out of the power supply.

I'm going to get another power supply and a new UPS device, and hopefully that was the only damage.
