I can has healthy kitteh?
Apr. 10th, 2008 09:04 pmMy day and previous evening were nerve-wracking. My poor little kitty had an upset stomach last night, basically emptying his entire digestive system, and the vet didn't open until the next morning. I was so worried about him that I grabbed an extra blanket and slept on the floor next to his cat bed.
That left me in a suboptimal state for work since I was worrying about my cat while trying to catch up on some stuff. Adding to that, I didn't make much progress because I had to document an issue that may not be fixable for the current release of the software I'm testing.
When I finally got news on my cat's condition, it was more or less good. He had some sort of gastrointestinal infection, and hadn't eaten something weird. I also learned that he had a broken bone that mended poorly, possibly from someone drop-kicking him before the animal shelter found him, and that he has signs of hip dysplasia, which explains why he isn't much of a jumper.
Now I have to deal with the fun of giving him antibiotics and waiting for results of additional blood work, but at least he's home and recovering.
