I haven't had much to write about lately, and the opportunity tends to pass quickly since I can't do that reliably from home. *Kicks (boots?) my stupid, flaky computers.*
- Computers
- Computer-wise, I'm still having trouble with random lockups on both Laserbeak and Metroplex. The good news is that Beaky fares slightly better, and I finally got a printer. Oh well, at least the new version of Inkscape kicks butt.
- Gym
- Going to the gym has started paying off again. I'm finally a bit past 145 lbs after being stuck at 140 for several months, and have set my bodyfat back on a downward trend.
- Home
- Apartment living has been interesting so far. I finally got my upstairs neighbors to turn their stereo down, dealt with another rent-related issue (a management change and the check was deposited to the wrong account), and have started doing more cooking.
- Weekend
- I went out to my grandparents' place over the weekend to celebrate my uncle's birthday. My grandmother was back on her feet and in a very good mood. She had some complaints about her diet being a bit restricted, but was barely critical other than that. The only thing I heard from her was a comment to my grandfather saying I gained weight.
Dinner was nice (My grandmother's improved mood put a bit more variety in her salads for some reason), and desert was unusual. We had apple and cherry pie instead of birthday cake. It was good for store-bought, but my grandmother burned the crusts again.
I took a slight detour on my way home to watch the Simpsons at my parents' home, where I found something scandalous in the refrigerator. My mom had a store-bought pie crust for the first time in 16 years. Last time she tried using one, everybody noticed that it wasn't as good as the usual crust she makes from scratch. - TV
- Been watching a lot of Lost lately. Last week's episode had a scene that reminded me of i.s.o. #4.
House is finally back after making way for American Idol *gags* for about a month, and with an episode that shows how much of a drug-addicted bastard House can be. - Cooking
- Speaking of cooking, I've been considering making an LJ community dedicated to the topic. The trick is figuring out content beyond posting random recipes.
