The first big storm of the year rolled through Detroit yesterday, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The rain, the thunder, the lightning, the wind, the hail, the power going out about five minutes before the storm hit.
Only one thing disappointed me. My walkman disappeared, so I couldn't listen to the radio (AM Radio in particular, WWJ or WJR specifically) like I usually do when I have no electricity.
Something about storms always leaves me energized when they're over, especially if I lose power. I feel like I can do things. This time I exhumed a portable lamp from the basement, set it up on my dresser, and attempted to draw for about an hour. The results weren't exactly presentable, but I think I'm on the right track and I enjoyed it. From now on, I'm going to spend an hour each day trying to draw. It will take time and patience to become adequate, but at least I'm trying something new. There may be something to studying and practice after all.
On another note, I picked up my new motherboard and CPU today. DHL tried to deliver the case, but left a notice of attempted delivery in a strange place that I didn't notice until after they closed, so I'll have to get it tomorrow.
