Bender's Game is a...
*Rolls dice* Pleasure to watch. Yeah, I know I'm a couple weeks overdue. Work and a cutting diet, which I'm now sticking to until at least the end of the year (My goal is to have abs by the time I'm 30), got in the way.
It's not quite as good as Bender's Big Score, but it's so much better than The Beast with a Billion Backs. The jokes feel more like Futurama this time around, especially in the Cave of Hopelessness.
The various subplots involve Leela's violent temper, Bender trying to play Dungeons & Dragons, a dark matter shortage, and more about the Professor's relationship with Mom. I was particularly impressed with how the writers foreshadowed and set up a couple of important plot points. I do think I spotted a continuity glitch, however.
One thing that surprised me about the movie was how quickly the fantasy world part of the story moved along. I was expecting a sprawling epic like Lord of the Rings.
D&D fans and Futurama fans both have something to enjoy in this film.
And here's the trailer for the fourth movie, "Into the Wild Green Yonder."
I *so* want a Tickle-me Bender.
